Question: So why did this guy go to all
of this trouble to create this website?
Answer: It's an easy question to ask
but a hard one to answer. The site began as a simple college
student homepage which was very common back in the mid-1990s.
While finishing up classes and meandering around Asia this
labor of love evolved into a tool for securing post-graduate
employment. Once that need was met the site evolved into
a personal travelogue where I have chronicled my adventures
around the world. While this purpose remains, I am expanding
the site’s purpose to increase communications with
friends and family and to showcase the fruits of my favorite
hobby, documentary photography.

I created the original code of this site using Windows
Notepad and I now use Dreamweaver for
day-to-day (or month-to-month, if I'm feeling lazy) maintenance.
The site is written in XHTML 1.0 Transitional and utilizes
cascading style sheets for everything except positioning
(I'm getting there...). The photographs are all original,
either
coming from my picture archive or my friends photos. Finally,
I created all of the graphics from scratch using Adobe
Photoshop.
Scripts used within this site: Birdcast for Email
This Page, Postcards
Direct for ePostcards, and FormMail for
the feedback
form.

| The site is written for all modern browser types and is
fully compliant with XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 2.1.
The site is optimized for the standard resolution of 800x600,
so the site will fit well on all PC displays. |

| As
of the end of 2005 this site has received over 5 million
